About Me
My Story:
Art and design have always held a special place in my heart. Throughout high school, I cultivated this passion by majoring in Art. In 1996, I completed my Graphic Arts Certification course at Boces, eager to translate my love of creativity into a fulfilling career.
My journey began with roles as a Pre-Press Technician at Kenyon's and MidYork, respectively. In 1999, the thrill of creation took me to my first Graphic Artist and Web Designer position. Back then, Adobe PageMill was my trusty companion for crafting web pages.
Subsequent stints at Rapid Reproductions and the local PennySaver allowed me to further hone my skills and gain valuable experience. After five years at the PennySaver, I joined my daughter's company, ADS Creative Consulting. Unfortunately, after 2.5 years, the loss of a major client forced the young company to close its doors.
Undeterred, I refused to let my passion fade. Despite having to explore other avenues like cooking, furniture moving, and RV repair to support my family, I never stopped sketching and dreaming of design.
A turning point arrived in the second year of my RV repair business. Equipped with a new laptop, I delved into the world of Linux and its open-source software. The flame of web design reignited, leading me to take our business website into my own hands.
Since 2021, I've built a strong digital arsenal, including two desktop computers (one running Linux, the other dual-booting Linux and Mac OS with Adobe Creative Suite). My eagerness to learn knows no bounds, propelling me to master Figma, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Git, and any other tool that crosses my path. Currently, I'm focused on mastering the design elements of Figma and file conversions for various Javascript frameworks.
I'm thrilled at the prospect of returning to my true calling – design. I'm excited to join a company that values growth and continuous learning, allowing me to contribute my creativity and expand my skillset.
I consider myself an overachiever I love working with others in a team environment. I never rest on my laurels, constantly seeking new challenges and knowledge. I also know that by no means have I mastered my skill I still have lots to learn, but this thirst for learning, combined with my passion for design, makes me a valuable asset to any team.
